2024 Head Coach John Allison
Coach Allison was born and raised in Lincoln, Illinois where graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998. He was a three-sport letter winner in football, wrestling and track. Following high school Coach Allison attended and graduated from Illinois College (2002) in Jacksonville, Illinois where he played football and was a four year letter winner on the Offensive Line for the Blueboys and majoring in Biology/Pre-Med.
After college he began coaching football at Edwardsville High School in 2002 and working on his Masters Degree at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. The following season, 2003, he became an assistant football coach at Granite City High School. Coach Allison arrived at Sacred Heart-Griffin in the Spring of 2004 and began his coach/teaching career at SHG. He has held the position of Offensive Coordinator helping to lead SHG to State Championships in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2022 and State Runner Ups in 2016 and 2021. Coach Allison teaches Physics at SHG. The fall of 2023 was Coach Allison’s first year as Head Coach of the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones. (allison@shg.org)
